New $20 Court Filing Fee for Wisconsin Traffic Cases

The Wisconsin Circuit Courts have recently implemented mandatory e-filing for attorneys representing clients in traffic cases in the majority of counties. These courts will start requiring a $20.00 fee for every case that an attorney opts in to for representation. Previously there were no court fees for representing someone in traffic court in the Wisconsin Circuit Courts. These fees are not currently being applied in municipal court cases. Going forward, LegalShield members authorizing WFJ’s representation to settle their traffic cases in Circuit Courts will be required to agree to reimburse WFJ for that $20.00 fee.
